How to login into your Shopify store?
Your developer or agency created the Shopify store and transferred it to you.
Now you would like to login into your website and start adding products, collections, discounts, gift cards and so on.
But how do you do that?
As a side note:
I always recommend to my clients, if they can afford it, to book a monthly retainer service from us to upload the images, add the product descriptions and so on.
If you can afford it I recommend you do the same with your developer or agency.
Why?
Because there is a lot of SEO involved in these tasks as well as bad optimized images that could slow the website down affecting the website speed.
From my experience many clients add poor text with copy and paste from Word documents, Google Docs and so on with a lot of bad markup to the product description pages.
Also many clients do not understand how image optimization works, what are the benefits, what are the drawbacks and how you should do it correctly.
You could easily lose traffic in search if you do not do the tasks correctly.
Anyway let’s get back to the methods that will allow you to login to your Shopify store.
Method 1
If you have a domain name connected to your store the login link will be:
https://yoursitename.com/admin/
If you do not have a domain name connected to your store you’ll need to use the myshopify.com domain.
Type in your browser the “admin” link (marked with 1 in the image below) :
https://yoursitename.myshopify.com/admin/
But as a general rule you can use the following link:
https://admin.shopify.com

On the “Log in” section you’ll see the name of your site (marked with 2 in the image above). In the image above is listed my site name which is “How Commerce”.
Now you need to type your email address with which you created the Shopify account for this store:

As an example I’ve used a fictive email address: “youremailaddress@gmail.com” (marked with 1 in the image above). Please replace this email address with the email address for your store.
Click the “Next” button (marked with 2 in the image above).
On the next step type your password (marked with 1 in the image below) :

Type your password with which you created the Shopify account for your store.
Please note that if you enter an incorrect password on your next login attempt you’ll be asked to verify that you are not a robot. Same thing will happen if your browser is in private or incognito mode, if you cleared your cookies or browser history.
After you’ve made this final step you’ll be logged inside your store, but if you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled there is one more step to do.
2FA is a more secure way to protect your store against security threats.
Having this enabled will protect you in case somebody has your login details like email and password, since even if they have those details they need a second step to login.
Shopify 2FA can be set up through a mobile app, SMS text message, security key, or biometric sensors.
The example below is via the SMS verification, on a mobile phone.

Type the code that you received via SMS in the “Authentication box” (marked with 1 in the image above).
Click the “Log in” button (marked with 2 in the image above).
This will log you inside your store.
What if you do not have access to your mobile phone anymore or to any other 2FA method?
There are cases when you’ve lost your phone, the phone was stolen or is just not functioning for the moment.
If that is the case you’ve received some recovery codes when you’ve activated the 2FA on your store.
Copy a code from that file and click on the “Use a recovery code” link:

Paste the recovery code in the “Authentication code” input box:

Click the “Log in” button (marked with 2 in the image above).
This will log you inside your store.
Method 2
Go to the Shopify site and click on the “Log in” link on the top right corner like in the image below:

This will take you to the Shopify login page:

Type your store address (marked with 1 in the image above) and click the “Next” button.
From here please follow the steps listed above in “Method 1” section.
Method 3
Type in the browser the following address:
https://accounts.shopify.com/
This link (marked with 1 in the image below) will take you to a page that will list all Shopify websites where you can login.
To login to your store please click on the “Your store” link (marked with 2 in the image below) :

This will take you to the Shopify login page:

Type your store address (marked with 1 in the image above) and click the “Next” button.
From here please follow the steps listed above in “Method 1” section.
Conclusion
Login into your Shopify store is easy. In case you can’t no longer login you can reset your password via email or if you forgot your store link you have an option called “Forgot store” that will send to your email address your store link.
If neither one will work for you then you must get in touch with the Shopify support team and they will help you to login inside your store.
