Even though initially, the Gallery had no formal collection policy, and new pictures were only acquired according to the personal tastes of the Trustees, over time things have changed and now it houses an impressive collection.
The Gallery’s aim is to care for the collection, to enhance it for future generations, primarily by acquisition, and to study it, while also encouraging access to the pictures for the education and enjoyment of the widest possible public.
